About the Place:

Mulayyanagiri is the highest peak in Karnataka. Mullayyanagiri in the Chandra Dhrona Hill Ranges of the Western Ghats of Chikkamagaluru Taluk. With a height of 1,925 m, it is one of the highest peak between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris.
Its right time to pack your bag and hike up at least anyone of the trail at Mullayanagiri. Also called as Paradise of Karnataka, It is mesmerizing with dense clouds, bone chilling wind and the famous ridge walk to Bababudangiri.
Just below the summit, there is natural cave and Nandi sculpture. Cave offers nature’s artistic sculpting.

Trek starts from place called Sarpadari which means serpent’s path. Trail inclined at 60 degrees at some places making the trek tougher and offers a stupendous view of the valley beneath.

Outline Itinerary:

Itinerary 1) Sarpadari-Mullayanagiri-Bababudangiri

Day 1: Depart previous day at 22:30 from adventure junkie (ask for pick up points); Reach our Homestay, get fresh and have breakfast, parcel lunch and start hiking from Sarpadari at around 08:30. Reach peak after visiting natural cave formations and Nandi sculpture; Have packed lunch (leave no trace is the principle which we follow strictly). Walk towards the trail behind the temple which leads ridge and Bababudangiri. Climb down from Bababudangiri, have evening snacks waiting along the transport; Return back to Homestay/Dormitory/Tented Campsite for more fun-filled activities around bonfire and BBQ (Try your hand at BBQ)

Day 2: Get fresh; play outdoor sports; Have breakfast, visit Hebbe/Kalhatty falls and leave to Bangalore; Reach Bangalore by 21:00

Itinerary 2) Sarpadari-Mulayanagiri

Day 2: Get fresh; play outdoor sports; Have breakfast, visit Hebbe/Kalhatty falls and leave to Bangalore; Reach Bangalore by 21:00

Things to Carry:
  1. Trekking shoes
  2. Backpack (40-60 litres), Water proof
  3. Socks (2 pairs): One sports socks, A pair of woollen socks for the night if trek is in winter.
  4. Salt/Snuff Powder to avoid leeches during rainy and post rainy season.
  5. Headlamp/Torch: Mandatory
  6. Toiletries (Sunscreen, moisturiser, light towel, lip balm, toilet paper, toothbrush, toothpaste).
  7. Two water bottles: 1 litre each.
  8. Personal Medications if any
  9. Plastic covers/Water proof covers to keep wet cloths seperately and extra for when backpack is not 100% water proof.
